Woman Dead After Auto Mishap

An unknown medical event contributed to a one-vehicle accident Thursday, Dec. 17 resulting in the death of a Shelbina woman.
Donna M. Dennis, 70, was driving east on U.S. 36 one-half mile west of Shelbina when her 2011 Nissan Juke traveled off the right side of the highway and struck a tree.
The crash occurred at 2:40 p.m. Dennis was wearing a seat belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Shelby County coroner Corey Eagan. Dennis was taken to Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
A passenger, 22-year-old Cheyenne Williams of Moberly, was not wearing a safety device and sustained minor injuries. Williams sought her own medical treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Shelbina Fire Protection District and Salt River Ambulance.
