Kenneth P Spring

Kenneth P. Spring, 84, of rural Industry passed away at 4:59 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1937 in Industry to Kenneth J. and Mary Marguerite DeCounter Spring. He married Katherine Joyce Lancaster on Dec. 16, 1956. She survives.

Also surviving are five children, Steve Spring of Woodhull, Sue Schultz of Alpha, Mickey (Marian) Spring of Bethel, Jan Spring of Aurora, Missouri and Mary Miller of Libertyville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three living siblings, Ron (Mary) Spring of Galesburg, Patricia (Dick) Turner of Oneida and Marcella Peacock of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sam Spring.

Kenneth attended Western Illinois University. He and Joyce moved to Rio, Ill. where he farmed with his dad and sold seed corn. He also farmed in Missouri and milked cows for 23 years. He served on the Vanguard Board for several years and was a member of the Rio Volunteer Fire Department. In his past-time he loved to bowl and play softball and he liked the New York Yankees.

Graeside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at Industry Cemetery with Pastor Eric Trone officiating. There was be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Chockley Cemetery.
