Johnathan Coats

Johnathan Coats, 31, of Shelbina, passed away on May 28, 2021 at his home. He was the son of Gina Coats (Fredrick Leslie Jr.) of Shelbina and Charles Coats (Loucinda Adkisson) of Independence.

He leaves behind a brother, Devin Coats; two nieces, Ayla May Coats and Jaylinn Coats; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his best and dearest friend/sister, Brittnay Bollin.

Johnathan graduated from South Shelby High School in 2010. He was intelligent beyond his years and enjoyed Jeopardy with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Leslie, and his maternal grandfather, Charles Cunningham.

A memorial service to celebrate his life and our sorrow will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 19 at 1 p.m. at Shelbina Carnegie Library basement room.
