David Lee McElhoe

David Lee McElhoe, 58, of Shelbina, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

David was born October 7, 1962 in Quincy, Ill. He was the son of Billy Dean and Helen Delores (Fohey) McElhoe.

He is survived by his siblings, Barbara Frazier  of Warsaw, Ill, Don McElhoe (Robin) of Montrose, Iowa, and Bob McElhoe (Kim) of Hunnewell; brother-in-law, Rick Karle of Warsaw, Ill.; step mother, Emma Lumley of Newark; step siblings, J.C. Claus (Laura) of Bethel, Dena Ireland (Patrick) of Monroe City, Curtis Claus (Tammy) of Shelbina; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

David enjoyed fishing, attending auctions, garage sales, flea markets and country music concerts. He liked to visit with others and tell jokes.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Becky Karle; brother-in-law, Harold Frazier; nephew, Justin Karle; and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 at Shelbina Christian Church in Shelbina.

Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, or to the family for funeral expenses.
