The Raiders beat Marion County on Monday, December 13 with a 60-41 victory.
North Shelby (4-1) outscored the Mustangs 31-26 in the first half.
“ Marion County is always a tough place to play in and after a very good first quarter, we let them get too many clean looks from outside the arc and they outscored us in the seconnd quarter after hitting 4 3s in the frame,” said North Shelby head coach Landon Daniel.
Brendyn McDaniel led NS with 27 points. Carson Orr had seven, Kyle Smith, Noah Greenwell and JD Rich tallied six while Landon Bender had four and Gabe Orr and Jade Daniel each had three.
The Raiders scored 16 points in the third quarter while MC had 14. The Mustangs were scoreless in the final quarter. NS had 15.
Daniel said the team adjusted some defensive pressures at halftime.
“In the fourth quarter, we really locked down and didn’t allow a point in the entire quarter to Marion. Very proud of the guys for their effort and not letting momentum swing too much into Marion’s favor when it could have easily,” said Daniel.
