Norman Barton, 81, of Clarence, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Norman was born in Hagers Grove, on March 17, 1940, the son of the late Thornton and Ruby (Gingrich) Barton. He was united in marriage to Linda Joyce Gallop on June 25, 1960 at the Clarence United Methodist Church in Clarence. She survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, Kirtus Lee Barton and wife Dana of Schertz, Texas, and James Keith Barton and wife Sue of Bevier; five grandchildren, Kaira, Elysa, Garrett, Morgan and Emily Marie Barton; siblings, Marilyn Kriner, Carolyn Stender, twin- Nelson Barton, Larry Barton (Ada), Jerry Barton (Donna), Trenneth Barton (Elaine), Linda Kay Barton, Roy Dale Barton (Leslie) and Peggy White (Randy); sister-in-law, Jan Smith; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thornton Barton Jr. and Billy Jim Barton; one brother-in-law, Burl Kriner; and sisters-in-law, Gayle Barton and Helene Barton.
Norman worked at Toastmasters for 40 years. In his earlier years, he and Linda en-joyed riding motorcycles. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and taking trips to Texas to visit his son, Kirtus. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home to cover expenses.
