Shelby County Clerk Stephanie Bender advises citizens that the last day to register to be eligible to vote in the August 2, Primary Election is July 6, 2022.
Absentee Voting
Absentee ballots are here for the August 2, 2022 Primary Election. Contact the Clerk’s office if you are interested in voting absentee. Voters may vote in the County Clerk’s office, or if they are unable to come to the office they may send a signed request asking that a ballot be mailed to them. This being a Primary Election, all voters must indicate which party ballot they would like, Democratic, Republican, Libertarian or Constitution.
The last day the clerk can send a “mail out” absentee ballot is Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Walk-in voters may vote in the Clerk’s office through Monday, August 1, 2022. Saturday hours: Absentee voting will be available on Saturday, July 30, 2002 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Voters who are permanently disabled may request to be put on a permanent absentee list.

Nursing Home
How voting at the nursing home is handled will depend on what the rules are at the time regarding to COVID. “We will have ballots for them to vote, I just don’t know what the process will be at this time,” Bender said.
