Eighty-four-year-old Charlie E. Oberto, of Moberly, Mo., was killed when a trailer ran over him on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at South Shelby High School, west of Shelbina.
According to Shelby County Sheriff Arron Fredrickson, Oberto was unloading rock, north of the grandstands, when the driver side rear tires of a 2014 TRAV Trailer rolled over him. The trailer was hooked up to a 2004 Kenworth Truck.
The truck and trailer are owned by Holman Enterprises, LLC, of Macon, Missouri.
Oberto was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:10 a.m. by Shelby County Coroner Corey Eagan. He was transported to Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
