Sidewalk Improvements Begin on Route P and BB

Weather permitting, the week of July 18, contractor crews will start work on two sidewalk improvement projects in Knox County located on Route P, from the west city limits of Edina to Fulton Street and on Route BB from Missouri Route 15 in Plevna to Plevna Place.
Work will begin on Route P in Edina and progress to Route BB in Plevna. There will be minimal impact to traffic during this work, which is being completed as part of MoDOT’s initiative for compliance with the current standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA).
This contract also includes a 32-mile resurfacing project on Missouri Route 15 in Knox and Shelby counties. The project will extend from the Missouri Route 6 north junction in Edina to Missouri Route 168 in Shelbyville. Guardrail work on this project is currently complete with plans for resurfacing operations, to begin sometime next month, which will include the addition of two-foot shoulders and rumble strips. This project is scheduled to be completed by late October.
MoDOT ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.
This contract was awarded last fall to W.L. Miller Company of Hamilton, Illinois in the amount of $4,950,300.
