Shelbina Woman Arrested for Alleged Sodomy

Information released by Shelbina Police Department
On August 15, 2022, the Shelbina Police Department received a report of an incident involving sex crime(s) with a child victim which occurred within the City of Shelbina. Officer(s) of the Shelbina Police Department began an investigation into the allegations.
As a result of the investigation probable cause was developed and a suspect was identified as Georgiana Madonia, 41, of Shelbina.
On August 26, Madonia was arrested in the 100 block of East Walnut Street in Shelbina. Madonia was transported to Shelby County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
The information was submitted to the Shelby County Prosecutor and formal charge(s) were filed. Shelby County Associate Circuit Judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Madonia charging her with an Unclassified Felony of Sodomy in the First Degree.
Madonia is currently incarcerated in the Shelby County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond.
The SPD was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri Department of Children’s Services, Shelby County Victim Advocate and the Child Advocacy Center in Hannibal, Missouri.
