Casey Shockley didn’t feel much like getting out on Monday, April 17, 2023, tallying four hits and leading North Shelby to a 14-1 win over Novinger Wildcats.
Shockley singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.
The Raiders got on the board in the first inning.
North Shelby (4-4) notched five runs in the third inning. Chesnie Robbins, Cole Browning, Shockley and Kaden Hunolt each had RBIs in the frame.
Cade Fallert led the Raiders to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The pitcher went five innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Quincy Chapman started the game for Wildcats. The right-hander surrendered six runs on six hits over two and a third innings, striking out one. Baylin Halley and Koenn Stewart entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.
North Shelby racked up 15 hits on the day. Shockley, Keaton Roan, Browning and JD Rich all collected multiple hits. Shockley led NS with four hits in five at bats. NS was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Grady Gander had the most chances in the field with seven. NS stole six bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Browning led the way with two.
