Shelbina Police Chief Jeff Brown is pleased to announce the City of Shelbina Board of Alderman have approved the addition of a new full-time position to the department. The City of Shelbina Board of Alderman also approved an appointment of a full- time position to an existing vacancy within the department. The position changes were effective on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Aidan Fredrickson will fill the existing vacancy within the department. Aidan graduated from the University of Missouri Law Enforcement Training Academy in May of 2023. While in the Law Enforcement Training Academy Aidan excelled in many areas and was promoted to the position of Sergeant (Squad Leader) after being nominated by his peers. Aidan has been in training with officers of the Shelbina Police Department since graduating and will be an asset to the team at the Shelbina Police Department and the community.
Ben Hodges will fill the newly appointed position and has been appointed to the rank of Sergeant. Ben has been employed with the Shelbina Police Department in a part time position since November of 2020. Ben has several years of experience in the field of law enforcement and has held several leadership positions in the departments he has worked for. Ben will be a great asset to the team at the Shelbina Police Department and the community.
Chief Brown appreciates the City of Shelbina Board of Alderman for working with him to staff the Shelbina Police Department in an ongoing effort to keep the Shelbina Police Department committed to our service and protection to the community.
