The South Shelby Lady Birds lost to Marceline 18-1 in five innings on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at home.
Marceline scored four runs in the second inning, four runs in the third inning, six runs in the fourth inning, and four runs in the fifth inning to cruise to an easy victory.
South Shelby’s lone run came in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI groundout.
The Lady Birds were held to three hits on offense.
Cassidy Curtis pitched three innings, allowing eight runs, three earned runs, on seven hits. She walked three and struck out two batters. Callie McWilliams allowed four runs without recording an out. She walked four batters. Kylie Million pitched one inning, allowing two runs on two hits, and Kinley Maddex pitched one inning, allowing four runs on two hits.
