Lady Raiders Defeat Westran and Win First Round of Districts

North Shelby defeated Westran in their last home game of the year. The Lady Raiders also beat Bevier in the first round of the Class 1 District 5 Softball Tournament.

North Shelby won their last home game against Westran on Monday, October 9, 2023, 11-1.
North Shelby scored six runs in the fourth inning. Emelia Flores, singled bringing in one run, Bella Donath singled, scoring one, Andi Belt, singled, scoring one and Marissa McEwen singled, scoring two runs and a wild pitch brought in a Lady Raider.
North Shelby got on the board in the bottom of the first after Addy Uhlmeyer singled, bringing in a run and Belt scored after tagging up.
Uhlmeyer earned the win for the Lady Raiders. She only surrendered three hits and one run after five innings. She struck out four and walked one.
Belt and Uhlmeyer each collected two hits. Harper Copenhaver and McEwen each drove in two runs for North Shelby.
North Shelby collected six walks in the game. Adrien Wiley, Uhlmeyer, Donath and Belt each stole multiple bases for the Lady Raiders.
North Shelby accumulated 16 stolen bases against the Lady Hornets.

Bevier
The Lady Raiders took down Bevier 16-1 in the first round of the District Softball Tournament on Friday, October 13.
Uhlmeyer collected three hits in three at bats for the Lady Raiders. Uhlmeyer tripled in the third inning, doubled in the first and singled in the third.
Uhlmeyer’s double in the first inning tied the game.
North Shelby brought in 13 runs in the third inning.
Uhlmeyer tripled, Riley Stoneburner doubled, Flores grounded out, Donath singled, Emme Jones tripled, Uhlmeyer singled, McEwen doubled and Donath each doubled.
Uhlmeyer earned the win for North Shelby as she only gave up one hit and one run over three innings. She struck out seven and only walked two.
As a team, North Shelby tallied 16 hits in the game.
Uhlmeyer and Donath each earned three hits in the game.
The Lady Raiders didn’t commit a single error against Bevier.
North Shelby took on La Plata on Monday, October 16.
