Disarming Suicide Initiative Training to be Held
The Behavioral Health Response Agency (BHR), based in St. Louis, will present a free post-approved training for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and all first responders at two locations in Shelby County on Friday, November 17, 2023.
BHR is teaming up with Shelby County Cares, a non-profit organization, to present suicide prevention strategies.
One training session will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the MU Extension Office.
The training is for one hour and a free lunch is being served.
The second training session will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Shelby County Cares Office in Clarence. A free dinner will be served at this training.
The Disarming Suicide Initiative is endorsed by the Missouri Police Chief’s Association, the Missouri Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), the Ethical Society of Police, and the Missouri Foundation for Health. This training does include continuing education unit hours.
