Lady Raiders Earn Consolation in North Shelby Tournament

The North Shelby Lady Raiders won the consolation trophy in the North Shelby Tournament, with a win against Knox County on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

The Lady Raiders earned the consolation title in their tournament after defeating Knox County 49-25.
Hadlee Parsons had 16 points, followed by Andi Belt and Harper Copenhaver with eight points each.
Addy Uhlmeyer scored four points in the first quarter, along with Marissa McEwen. Parsons scored two and went 2-for-2 from the charity line as well.
Ally Rich scored three in the second. Belt scored two and Parsons hit a three as well as two other buckets. Copenhaver also scored two. At the half, the Lady Raiders led 33-12.
In the third period, Belt hit two shots and Parsons scored another bucket.
Copenhaver went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Raiders had a 42-37 win over Scotland County on Thursday night, January 18, in the second round of the tournament.
Parsons led the team with 15 points, followed by Belt with 11.
The team had 19 rebounds for the night along with 10 steals.
In the first quarter, Parsons scored a layup and made her extra point from the charity line after being fouled. Belt went 2-for-2 from the charity line and also scored two on a jump shot. With an assist from Parsons, Rich made a three to get the Lady Raiders a lead. Uhlmeyer also helped with a block shot to score two.
Belt and Parsons each completed old fashioned three-point plays in the second quarter. At the half, the Lady Raiders were leading the Lady Tigers 23-19.
In the second half, Copenhaver scored four more points for the Lady Raiders. By the fourth period, North Shelby were still leading 37-24.

Schuyler Co. 55
The Lady Raiders battled a close loss to Schuyler County with a final score of 55-48 in overtime.
They were led by Parsons with 23 points, followed by Rich with 12 points.
The team had a total of 27 rebounds and nine steals for the night.
The score after the first quarter was 7-6 with the Lady Raiders only trailing by one.
Rich hit a three in the second quarter along with Uhlmeyer and Belt who both scored two. At the half, the score was 22-14 with the Lady Raiders still trailing.
In the third quarter, Rich and Parsons each made two threes. McEwen made a jump shot and went 2-for-2 from the charity line.
With 3.8 seconds left in the game, the Lady Raiders got the ball. The game was tied 45-45.
It went into overtime with Parsons scoring two more buckets, but the Lady Raiders were unable to pull out a win.
