The South Shelby Lady Birds hosted the Milan Lady Cats on Friday, January 26, 2024, for Courtwarming and won 68-24.
The Lady Birds raced to a 10-0 lead to start the game, with Callie McWilliams scoring six of the 10 points.
Milan scored six straight points, but South Shelby held its opponent scoreless the rest of the quarter and led 20-6 after one quarter.
South Shelby continued to pump in the points in the second quarter, going on a 17-5 run at one point. McWilliams added nine points in the quarter, while Belle Roush scored six as South Shelby led 44-13 at the half.
The third quarter was much of the same as South Shelby outscored Milan 24-11 in the second half to cruise to the 68-24 win.
McWilliams led the Lady Birds with 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists and six steals. Belle Roush added 24 points, nine rebounds, and three steals. Kamryn Mitchell had five assists and four steals.
The Lady Birds, 15-4 overall, hosted Monroe City on Tuesday, January 30, and travel to Palmyra on Friday, February 2. Games begin at 6 p.m.
