Barbara Ratliff-Johnston

Barbara Ann Ratliff-Johnston, 62, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, Mo.

Barbara was born on August 22, 1961, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Gerald (Jerry) Ratliff. She was united in marriage to James Forrest Johnston on September 19, 2015 in Shelbina, Mo. He survives.

Barbara is also survived by two daughters, Courtney Hicks of Columbia, Mo., and Cayla Hicks of Shelbina, Mo.; one granddaughter, River Johnston of Shelbina, Mo.; two step-sons, Robbie and Jimmy Johnston; one step-daughter, Sylvia Fifer; step-grandchildren (that called her Granny Barb), Bryan and Toby Leftwitch, Trinity Fifer, and Riley Greening; her siblings, Randy Ratliff (Tammy) of Concordia, Mo., Karen Moss of Marshall, Mo., and Lynn Ratliff of Ellington, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Debbie Ratliff.

Barbara held many jobs around the community doing what she had to do to take care of herself and her family. She loved her family and dog, Mater, and liked to keep up on trivia by watching game shows on TV.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5-8 pm at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Mo. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the funeral home in Shelbina, Mo. with Rev. Andrew Coon officiating. Burial followed the service at the Bacon Chapel Cemetery.
