Clarence Fire Department was dispatched out to W. Elm St about 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, for a structure fire. Unfortunately, the structure was a total loss, but all residents got out safely. According to Clarence Fire Chief Chris Wilson, the cause of the fire is undetermined. The home is owned by Mathew Harris. Clarence Fire Department was assisted by Shelbina Fire Protection District, Macon Rural Fire Department, Salt River Ambulance, Clarence PD, Shelby County, Mo Joint Communications-Shelby County Sheriff’s Office/E911.
