New Grant Opportunity for Shelby County Nonprofits
For the first time, nonprofit organizations in Shelby County have the opportunity to receive funding from the newly established Shelby County Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri.
The Shelby County Endowment Fund was established after a volunteer Fund Council fulfilled a dollar-for-dollar matching grant opportunity, raising $15,000 with community members and receiving a match of $15,000 from the Community Foundation. As a permanent endowment, the fund will benefit local projects, programs, and organizations in Shelby County for generations to come.
With the match opportunity successfully met, nonprofit organizations in Shelby County are encouraged to submit applications for funding through the Community Foundation’s community grant program.
Applications are accepted from eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits and government entities. Interested organizations must complete their applications online by the deadline of May 1. The community grant application can be accessed at www.mycommunityfoundation.org/community-grants.
To learn more about the grant opportunity and prepare to submit a successful application, Shelby County nonprofits are invited to attend a special “Lunch and Learn” session. This event will take place on Monday, April 8 at the Father Buhman Center in Shelbina from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Attendance at the “Lunch and Learn” is free; however, registration is required. Interested applicants can register online at www.mycommunityfoundation.org/events.
