SS to Host Jamborees

  The South Shelby High School Softball and Football teams will be competing in jamborees on Friday, August 23, 2024, at South Shelby High School.

  The softball jamboree will begin at 4 p.m. with Brashear and Westran visiting. Game one will be Brashear vs South Shelby, game two will be Brashear vs Westran, and game three will be South Shelby vs Westran.

  They will play eight innings total in the four-inning round-robin format. Five runs or three outs will end the half-inning. Games will have a time limit of 50 minutes.

  The football jamboree will follow at 7 p.m., with Louisiana, Marceline and Westran competing along with South Shelby.

  Series one will be Marceline vs Louisiana on the east end of the field, while South Shelby vs Westran will be on the west end of the field.

  Series two will be Westran vs Marceline on the west end of the field, while Louisiana vs South Shelby will be on the east end of the field.

  Series three will be Westran vs Louisiana on the west end of the field, while Marceline and South Shelby will be on the east end of the field.

  The team listed first in the series will start on offense. Each team will receive 12 offensive and 12 defensive plays for each series.

  Fan admission for each jamboree will be sports drinks or soap products.
