North Shelby earned fourth place in the Paris Tournament on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
North Shelby vs South Shelby
The Lady Raiders beat South Shelby in the first round of the Paris Tournament on Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9-7.
The Lady Birds were first to get on the board after Bella Cook singled on a fly ball to right field bringing in Sofia Eleazarraraz.
North Shelby (10-4) tied things up after Clara Uhlmeyer singled on a ground ball to second base bring in Emme Jones. Jones previously singled on a hard ground ball to center field.
Addy Uhlmeyer doubled on a fly ball to left field and Clara Uhlmeyer would advance to third. Harper Copenhaver was walked. Isabella Jones fly out to centerfield was caught, but Clara Uhlmeyer tagged up and NS took a 2-1 lead. That would be the Lady Birds first out of the inning.
Emelia Flores singled on a fly ball to center field and Addy Uhlmeyer and Copenhaver would add to the Lady Raiders led, 4-1.
In the second inning, Cook singled on a line drive to center field and Harlie Fuller and Elezarraraza scored. The Lady Birds still trailed 4-3.
Addy Uhlmeyer was walked to begin the bottom of third inning. Copenhaver singled on a bunt. She and Addy Uhlmeyer would be at third and second. Jones hit a line drive and reached on an error by the leftfielder and Addy Uhlmeyer and Copenhaver scored. NS lead extended, 6-3.
North Shelby’s last run in the inning would be after Jones scored on a passed ball. They led 7-3.
South Shelby brought the score to 7-6 in the fourth inning after Cook doubled on a fly ball to center field bringing in Gracynn Lanpher and Callie McWilliams. Jayda Lanpher grounded out to first base and Cook would come home. SS trailed 7-6.
The Lady Raiders added their last two runs in the game in the fourth inning after Addy Uhlmeyer sacrifice fly to left field brought in Sadie Gander and Emme Jones. Gander was previously walked and Emme Jones was hit by a pitch.
The last run in the game was made by South Shelby after Reese Maupin scored on a passed ball.
The game ended due to time limit.
Flores started on the mound for NS. She struck out two batters and walked three. Clara Uhlmeyer finished the game as shee struck out three Lady Birds and walked one.
NS vs. Salisbury
The Lady Raiders (10-5) lost to No. 1. seed Salisbury in the second round of the tournament, 15-3. Salisbury scored 10 of their 15 runs in the fourth inning.
Salisbury scored their first two runs in the first inning.
North Shelby’s Clara Uhlmeyer singled on a bunt. Addy Uhlmeyer was then walked. Harper Copenhaver singled on a ground ball to centerfield. She advanced to second then third on an error. Clara Uhlmeyer and Addy Uhlmeyer would score tying the game 2-2.
Isabella Jones grounded out and Copenhaver would come home. North Shelby held a 3-2 lead.
Salisbury tied the game in the third inning then their lead just continued to rise.
Clara Uhlmeyer allowed nine runs and struck out two batters. Emelia Flores allowed six runs. No Lady Panther was walked in the game.
Lady Raiders vs. Paris
North Shelby lost to the Lady Coyotes in the third place matchup, 2-1.
Paris got on the board first after a two-run homerun in the bottom of the first inning.
Isabella Jones doubled on a fly ball to left field to start the second inning.
Emelia Flores singled on a bunt to shortstop and Jones advanced to third.
Adrien Wiley bunted into a double play to third base.
Jones would score on a pass ball.
The Lady Raiders (10-6) had eight hits in the game. Emme Jones and Clara Uhlmeyer collected two hits. Addy Uhlmeyer, Harper Copenhaver, Isabella Jones and Flores each had one hit.
Wiley was on the mound for NS. She struck out three batters and walked one.
