Vannoy Wins Healthcare Award

The Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition (MOCAN) and its Healthcare Workgroup recently presented Katie Vannoy RN, BSN with the annual Healthcare Award, which is given yearly to healthcare professionals who exhibit dedication to their community and innovation in encouraging physical activity and/or nutrition in their community.

Katie gave a presentation at the MOCAN Summit on October 24, which outlined the activities she has introduced in Shelby County including starting the Shelby County Shock youth cross country team for 6-14 year olds in 2021, hosting Smoothies in the Park every summer, organizing a Glow Run on Labor Day weekend, giving classes on physical activity and nutrition to Parents As Teachers and 4H youth group, and helping co-sponsor the annual bike rodeo along with Hannibal Regional Hospital.

Katie is married to Trent Vannoy and they have two sons, Slayton and Kelton. She has been an employee of Shelby County Health Department for 10 years and her duties include coordinating the Home Health & Maternal Child Health programs.
