One Dead Following Crash in Shelbina

A LaBelle man died following a crash on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:25 a.m. on MO 15, north of US Highway 36 in Shelbina.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, David Michel, 71, was southbound driving a 2003 Toyota Highalnder, when he ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, overturned and was ejected.
Michel was pronounced dead at the scene by University Hospital Dr Plinan at 10:48 a.n. via Salt River Ambualnce Media.
He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The vehicle was totaled and insured by State Farm. It was towed by Shelbyville Auto.
The MSHP was assisted by Shelbina Police Department, Shelbina Fire Protection District, Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and Shelbina Electric Company.
