North Shelby School District and other local schools are investigating burglaries that have occurred recently where money has been stolen. North Shelby was burglarized on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
According to Shelby County Deputy Sheriff and School Resource Officer Caleb Barton, camera footage shows two masked suspects entering the building at approximately 5:00 a.m.
“The school was secured and well locked up. Every door was locked but the suspects were able to enter the school by forcible entry,” said Barton.
Approximately four or five other school districts in the area have experienced the same type of burglary. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with the other districts during their investigation.
“Our job is to find the individuals and prosecute them,” Barton said.
This investigation is ongoing. More details will be released when they become available.
