The South Shelby Cardinals lost 16-0 against the Westran Hornets on Friday, May 2, 2025, at South Shelby High School.
The Hornets scored 11 runs in the top of the second inning and five in the ttop of the third inning.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals were held hitless through three innings.
Tucker Elliott pitched one and one-third of an inning, allowing 10 runs, nine earned runs, on seven hits. Peyson Larrick pitched the final one and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs, three earned runs, on seven hits.
The Cardinals, 4-11 overall, traveled to Mark Twain on Friday, May 5, and traveled to Scotland County on Tuesday, May 6. South Shelby hosts Palmyra on Thursday, May 8, for senior night, and travel to Salisbury on Monday, May 12, and travel to Northwestern on Tuesday, May 13. All games begin at 5 p.m.
