This week we are celebrating with Heartland Community resident Josh Smith and his co-authors, whose anthology “Eon City: Burnout” is releasing on Amazon on July 28th. Ten years ago, Josh Smith took a big leap to attend a Realm Makers Writer’s Conference and has since spent countless hours learning his craft, diving into world-building, along with learning the marketing aspect of publishing. He met new people at that conference who became lifelong friends, and over the past few years they have also become writing partners.
Josh returned to the writers conference in Grand Rapids this year and took another big leap—he and fellow authors participated in The Realm Makers Expo, where hundreds of faith-based vendors from Etsy stores on up to Angel Studios were set up for authors signing books, creatives inspiring each other, and fans finding their next read.
The best part? Josh and his friends were there for the release of their new book, “Eon City: Burnout”, a futuristic, cyberpunk anthology. Here’s a quick authors’ synopsis:
“Millions of people call Eon City home. They live their lives in glittering skyrises, flitting from place to place in sleek hovercars, synced with a digital world that gives them everything they could ever want. A shimmering energy shield protects everything they hold dear from violent solar storms. At least, that’s what Axoprime Corporation wants you to believe. The truth is layered as deeply as the megacity, all the way through the Underground, into the deadly Depths themselves. A truth few have been able to uncover. Until now. “Eon City” is full of stories of regular people from all walks of life who, when they find themselves wrapped up in the same sinister conspiracy, face a decision. Will they look out for themselves, like they’ve always done? Or will they put their lives in jeopardy to uncover the forces behind a devastating attack that threatens the entire city?”
Josh plans to hold a book signing later this summer, but if you want to get your hands on a copy sooner, you’ll find it at Amazon.com. Congratulations to Josh and his friends on achieving this dream. We rejoice with you!
