The South Shelby Cardinals traveled to Centralia on Friday, October 10, 2025, for another Clarence Cannon Conference battle and lost 42-0.
The Cardinals kicked off and it didn’t take long for Centralia to get its offense going. Centralia scored on a long touchdown run with 9:58 on the clock. The two-point conversion was good, and the Panthers led the Cardinals 8-0.
The Cardinals first possession resulted in a punt.
Centralia moved the ball down the field and scored on a three-yard run. The extra point failed, and the Cardinals trailed 14-0 with 11:55 left in the second quarter.
South Shelby’s next possession ended in an interception near midfield.
Centralia scored on its next possession with a 12-yard run. The two-point conversion was good, and the Panthers led 22-0 with 4:38 left in the first half.
A fumble on South Shelby’s next possession on the third play gave Centralia had another chance to score before halftime. The Panthers capitalized with a 19-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion failed, and Centralia led 28-0 with 26 seconds left, which would be the halftime score.
The Cardinals opened the third quarter with the ball and were forced to punt.
Centralia added a long touchdown run in the third quarter. The two-point conversion was good, and the Panthers led the Cardinals 36-0 with 8:06 left in the third quarter.
Centralia added a 43-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the final score of the game as the Panthers cruised to a 42-0 win.
Hudson Gill led the Cardinals with 24 yards rushing on 12 carries.
Chase Moellering completed 3-of-5 passes for 25 yards.

The Cardinals, 1-6 overall, host Macon on Friday, October 17.
