The filing period for the April 7, 2026, election closed on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 5 p.m. Following are the filings in Shelby County.
The City of Clarence had Willie Hendricks file for Mayor; and Jackie Blackford, Mryna Carothers, and Dennis Williams file for Alderman.
The City of Shelbina had Al Dimmitt file for Mayor; Nick Broughton file for East Ward Alderman; and Chad Wharton and Adam Johnston file for West Ward Alderman. Incumbent Jeff Brown filed for City Marshal.
The City of Shelbyville had Michael Vanskike file for Mayor; Gene Boyles file for Southward Alderman; and Robert Southers and Daniel Dunn filed for Northward Alderman.
The Village of Bethel had four candidates file for three Trustee positions. They were Jon Miles, Laura Claus, Joey Buckman, and Patricia (Patty) Truitt.
The City of Hunnewell had Carl Bastian file for Mayor, and Dennis Beaver for Alderman.
Filing for Shelby County R-IV School Board for three board positions, three year terms, were incumbent Lindsey Perotti, Jeanette Poore, and Stewart Hatcher. Filing for the two-year term was incumbent Kim Buckman.
Filing for North Shelby High School were incumbent Travis Belt, incumbent Joshlin Yoder, James Kohn, and incumbent Shawn McEwen.
Salt River Nursing Home District had one filing, Sam Hawkins, District 3.
Clarence Care Center had two filings. They were Donald Maddex, Sub-District #1, and Angie Mefford, Sub-District #2.
Filings for the Shelby County Water Public Water District Herman Spilker, Sub-District #1.
Filings for Shelbina Fire District Director were Paul von Thun and Scott Utterback.
Filings for Salt River Ambulance District were Walter Spilker, District #1 (Taylor, Bethel, Tiger Fork and North River Township), and Phil Leatherman, District #4, (Jefferson and Lentner Townships).
Filing for Shelbina Special Road District was Leslie O. Wilt.
