Shelbina Villa

Monday, we got beautified with Marva Maddox fixing up everyone’s hair, while activity director Cyndi beautified their nails! Several of the ladies chose nude polish colors, while others chose to be on the wild side with purples and glitter. We were entertained after lunch by the ever-spectacular BJ Davis! BJ sang an array of songs that had us all clapping and tapping to the tunes!

We listened to the word of God Tuesday morning. The Christian Church delivered a powerful message that resonated with all of us. We appreciate those who spread the Gospel with us! We challenged our brains after lunch and played Fact or Crap. We listened to a statement and then tried to decide if the statement was indeed a fact, or if it was false and was crap. We all worked together as a team to find our answers for this game, so we decided that everyone was a winner!

Wednesday we played a rousing game of Jeopardy. We split into two teams. Team one consisted of Gail Canavan, Marge Williams, Janet Bichsel, Lydia Gilbert, Linda Barton, and Anna Barton. Team two consisted of Dorothy Gill, Jerri Hewitt, Pat Vannoy, Faye Poore, and Nora Utterback. It was a battle of the brains. The points went to and fro, allowing each team to be in the lead multiple times. In the end, team two took the victory with 3,200 points! We challenged our brains again after lunch. We played Zig Zag Zoom. We started with a couple of easy categories. We began with naming boy names, then girl names. These categories were easy to complete. To make the game much harder, activity director Cyndi changed the category to something cold. We did well with the easy letters, but u, v, w, x, y, and z were difficult to come up with!

We got crafty Thursday morning. We all gathered in the dining room and made foam Easter wreaths. Everyone decorated their wreath how they would like to. Some put Easter eggs, bunnies, jewels, bows, and more! Each wreath turned out unique and everyone was excited to hang their new décor on their door! We played Giant Jenga after lunch. The residents like to call this game stack party. We got the tower up to 26 levels high, but unfortunately it came toppling down when Marge Williams tried to place another piece atop the tower. Maybe we will get the tower taller next time we play!

Friday, we started our morning playing Left, Right, Center. We each took a chance of luck rolling the dice. The anticipation of seeing if we could keep out chips was immense. Several had to pass their chips to the left, right, and sometimes, we even had to put our chips in the center, for them to be gone for good, never to return. Jerri Hewitt won big and got everyone’s chips, declaring her the LRC winner! We played several rounds of Bingo after lunch. Nora Utterback reigned supreme and took first place with four Bingos for the day!

The staff at the Villa would like to remind you to please stay at home if you are feeling sick, but if you are feeling well, we love to have visitors!  We hope you have a blessed week and please remember to visit us on our Facebook page to see everyone in action! God Bless!
