MACON, Mo. (June 25, 2025) – POET Bioprocessing – Macon awarded $8,000 in grants to four local causes. The funds were donated through POET’s 2025 Community Impact Grant Program, which awards grants to a variety of causes throughout the more than 30 communities in which the company operates.
Safe Passage received $4,000 to replace and upgrade lighting fixtures at its domestic violence shelter.
Altrusa International of Moberly was awarded $2,000 to purchase fabric to make pillow cases to cover donated pillows for foster children in Randolph County.
Friends of Macon County, Missouri Animals received $1,000 to purchase kennels for potential animal foster families who don’t have fenced-in yards.
Shelby County Cares was awarded $1,000 to help expand its Feed the Farmer program, which delivers hot meals to farm families during peak harvest. SCC is a small nonprofit making a big impact by offering free or low-cost therapy, suicide prevention education, and crisis support
“POET is proud to be a part of this community,” said Scott Tuttle, General Manager of POET Bioprocessing – Macon. “Each of these organizations serves an important need for some of our most vulnerable residents, and we’re excited to be able to support their work.”
Through POET’s annual Community Impact Grant Program, individuals and organizations are invited to apply for funding for projects aimed at changing their community for the better. The next grant cycle will open in the spring of 2026. For more information, visit poet.com/grants.
