HYMAX was established as a tribute to long-time State FFA Advisor, Dr. Terry Heiman. Attendees are Greenhands (100 top freshmen from across the state) who gain experience in developing an agriculture advocacy plan, tour unique agricultural operations, and develop friendships with other members. This year Kale and Cooper attended as members and Andi Belt and Aliza Yoder served as group leaders.

During HYMAX Academy at Camp Rising Sun, we learned about leadership, how to advocate for ourselves and agriculture, and worked on team‑building. We met new friends from across the state and gained skills we can use in FFA and beyond. It was a fun and rewarding experience that left me more confident and motivated!

While attending the HYMAX Academy at Camp Rising Sun, we learned a lot about advocating for agriculture. I learned to use my own strengths and knowledge to help ag in my community as well as on a larger scale. HYMAX attendees heard from many different speakers from different areas and parts of agriculture. As a whole I learned a lot from the academy, and am looking forward to using what I learned in the real world.
