Hello everyone, hope you have been trying to keep “cool,” and I don’t mean the word usage of cool, calm and collected. By the time you read this, let’s hope the temperature will be more bearable.
The July 5th fireworks at the Clarence City Lake were to me the best we have ever had. I applaud everyone that had a hand in the July 4th celebration. Before the fireworks, I went to the Demolition Derby in Shelbina at the fairgrounds. Burl and I really enjoyed many derbies in several places. This year’s was probably the best one I can honestly say I remember. I don’t know how many years Shelbina has been having them but I feel like we saw all of them.
How many of you have started back listening to KRES FM Radio from Moberly? Well, I have and it just keeps getting back to what it used to be. We all miss the news from local funeral homes, I have talked with them about our concerns and have been told, “hopefully by the end of August, “it may happen. Maybe if others would call them telling them how important it is to you, thinking positive is good. This is the number I use 800-892-2300.
Hopefully lots of you took time to read Keely Schiff’s article in the July 10th issue about our local Camp Jo-Ota.It was very well written with information (both past and present) and spiritually. I along with many parents sent our children there year after year As Keely’s article stated, the camp continues to be a wonderful exerience.
Our Square Dance Club, along with several other area dancers entertained residents at the Clarence Care Center July 17th. It was a pleasure. to be invited
with a great crowd. For anyone who would love to to square dance our Macon Club Beaux and Belles will begin lessons August 21st. Call me for more information. I started in 1966 and continue to dance.
Think about this: “Today is the best day to enjoy life.” I have told many people we need to live every day as if it is our last one. With the devastation at Camp Mystic and other places affected by the Jul 4th flood, it should make everyone a believer, “One day at a time.”
When peeling some boiled eggs, I thought which end of the egg came out of the chicken first? After googling I was surprised, so find out for yourself.
Before I sign off, here are a few words for you to look up in case you haven’t heard then before.: mollycoddle, Scuttlebutt, Curmudgeon, and Cockamamie.
Thanks for reading.
